We saw puffins today

2 Apr

My goodness, Edinburgh is cold at this time of year. We are having a week of seeing my lovely family (including my uncle Andrew who I’ve not seen for years and years and years), friends and the sights of the city.

So far we seem to have been underground in plague closes or high up on volcanoes and towers. Apart from today where we saw puffins from a boat. I thought they were big but they aren’t . They are tiny. And very cute.

Just checking in whilst our feet thaw. We’ve been on a ghost thing in sub-zero temperatures. Chris is reading extracts from a magazine practising his Scottish accent whilst Cal finishes his Easter eggs and Sylv and her friend plan their shopping trip on Thursday. Ah, holidays.

Pandas tomorrow. Do you think they will know if I am wearing bamboo socks? And Mags – could you not buy socks in France then?

Jo xx

The pandas are amazing! Smaller than you may think tho, very lazy too so don’t expect too much movement!

Sounds as if you’re having a lovely time in Scotland. Socks were 15 pounds a pair in France, jo!!

I remember being amazed at how tiny puffins are when I first saw them at Skomer Island (expensive boat trip over for the day and worth every penny, even for non-bird-watchers).

And baby puffins are called…PUFFLINGS! No, really, they are. How cute is THAT?

Bet the pandas are lovely, don’t let them eat your socks!
