120 socks and something special

29 Mar

Does anybody need 60 pairs of socks? Chris counted his socks this morning (a Northern Easter ritual, perhaps?). He has 60 pairs of socks. That’s more than Rosie had, but proves it’s a Kilburn thing to like socks. He only has two feet so why does he have so many?

Meanwhile, some new businesses have sprung up to raise money for the Break a Record for Rosie:

Alan’s baby snail farm and On a Whim cushions. You can find On a Whim on Facebook – I can’t get the link into this at the moment, but will do when I can. And why doesn’t Alan have his own FB page? Eh?

The TKOE commission has been progressed. So exciting.

And we had a massive meeting with HOPE Support last night. And we got a bit swallowy and watery-eyed because this has come about through a collaboration with Macmillan:

Cal models it nicely, doesn’t he? We got a bit emotional because this is just the sort of thing Rosie was raging about and why she wanted to raise funds for HOPE. And here it is. And you all have helped play a part by raising money for HOPE and supporting them. And Sylv is pleased too. Because. Just because.

Jo xx

Hmmm – the thing about socks is that you need different sorts for different things. Everyday socks, cosy socks for the house in cold weather, extra thick socks for wellies etc etc – that said, 60 pairs does seem an awful lot. I suspect this isn’t Chris’ fault, could it be down to rather unimaginative present buying by a lot of people?
Brilliant news on the Hope/Macmillan collaboration front. Another demonstration of the Rosie effect.
Happy Easter to everyone, have a lovely weekend. x

Embarrassed as I am to admit it….I rather think I may have more than 60 pairs…..may not be just a Northern thing….will have to count them for Easter……..xx

I think the trick for men is to buy all socks the same so that there’s none of that time consuming pairing up….as for me, I’m a brighter the better sort of person and like different colored ones. Since moving back to UK think I’ve always managed to wear an actual pair, rather than odd ones!!! Mind you, when in France mother used to buy them for me, and now they’re almost all wearing out fast……just can’t yet get round to having to buy them myself!!!
