Ever wondered?

9 Oct

Have you ever wondered what you would look like with a moustache. Or what someone else would look like with one. Well now you can experiment and raise money for cancer good causes at the same time, without all the hassle of growing one.

Just go here http://www.galleryofmo.co.uk/the-artists/artist/michael-arnold-403 and you can get our very own Mike Arnold to do you a portrait, or you can choose from 77 other artists if you want to give that a whirl.

Love it!

And why has it suddenly got so dark in the mornings? Eh?

Mmmm – can’t really say I’ve ever wondered that…but a novel idea I guess. And anything that raises cash like this can only be a good thing.
I don’t like the dark morning either. Allegedly days get longer/shorter by a minute at each end of each day as the seasons go on, but I agree with you that we seem to get a sudden lurch into darkness.
I don’t like the clocks changing either – although this year I get a 25 hour birthday so maybe I won’t mind so much this time. x

Movember, what a brilliant idea that is! Maybe seeing a virtual version might spur someone on.

From what little I see of them these days (sorry!), I agree about the dark mornings, though daughter in Norway is currently losing nine minutes a day, on the run-in to the gloriously named mørketide ( = dark time, where we get our word murky from).

However, I am noticing some odd things about this autumn. For instance, generally the hedgerows are about a fortnight behind last year, e.g. there are still lots of blackberries, spindleberries and bryony. But the trees from which I collected acorns on the day of Rosie’s funeral have not a single acorn, and there are none on the ground, not even fragments where they have been crushed by tractors etc. The squirrels can’t have got them all….
