A large box arrived yesterday. A mystery box. With writing we didn’t recognise. It took ages to open, because it was so well wrapped with parcel tape.
When we finally got into it there was an envelope for TKOE, a card for me and a picture of an exasperated angel.
The angel and card were from Claire who is a blog reader who sent Rosie brilliant emails and little presents. And she sent us the angel picture because ours was the right place for it to be. And she is right. She is sitting in front of me now and reminds me of Rosie. The exasperated bit, at least.
The TKOE envelope was from a 97 year old via Claire, for TKOE. £6162 to go. Thank you so much Claire, and your neighbour, for the card, the angel and the donation. I hope the house move goes well.
We see Cal in two weeks. He has taken to ringing us up as well as texting now, which means Chris, Sylv and I get told his meals during the day and then we find out verbally from him in the evening. We’re expecting him to be double his usual size.
He is learning how to be a waiter this term, so we know a lot about table laying and holding hot plates with cloths. It sounds far more specialised than you’d think.
Now, you must all go and see the film ‘Untouchable’. Best film we’ve seen in ages. Go. And see what you think. And while you are at it, if you ever get the chance to see something by Paper Cinema, do it. I can’t describe what they do, because I don’t know how to. It is the simplest yet most incredibly creative story telling you can imagine. Google them.
I’m writing this on Rosie’s lap top. It’s quite a strange feeling.
