Three Peaks, pork pies and Forget-me-nots

29 Jul

And another brave group push themselves through physical and mental challenge to raise funds for the TKOE £20k challenge.

First things first – here’s a picture of our brave troupe, showing off the new TKOE mixed tees event selection – available from the TKOE shop:

Second things second – here’s the place where people can donate http://www.justgiving.com/thethreepeakschallenge2012

You blog readers have been sooo generous already, so just get this pushed round people you know or even people you don’t know and spread the fundraising further. This one is specifically raising for Forget me Not Trust, one of the TKOE four. Here’s good luck to them, and we’ll let you know how they get on.

Flying blog visit today because Chris, Cal and I are taking advantage of the sun and Sylvie’s departure on a party weekend, to be at Nozstock, local festival. First festival Cal has ever been to, so we were a bit doubtful about how he would take it. No worries though – the mix of eccentric characters strolling around, drink and food, sun and fields plus music and dancing with the odd roaring fire and firework thrown in, suits Cal’s more unusual autistic tendencies.

Once he’d surveyed the scene for a while, he decided that what every new festival goer needs is a pork pie hat, so he bought himself one.( I was not allowed to buy a top hat with peacock feathers and flowers – for me 😦 ) He has worn it constantly since, periodically taking off his sun glasses to laugh at himself in his reflection.

Then last night, he got well into The Correspondants, and ended up using all the Zumba moves he’s ever learned. Which worked well. What a boy!

Oh, it’s started raining. Better look out the wellies.

Jo xx

That is a wonderful photo – very best wishes to the team for the challenge.
Makes a change to hear about a festival with sunshine rather than mud (albeit with a late appearance of rain and wellies). Sounds like you all had a whale of a time, although you definitely should have bought that hat to keep up with Cal. He’s a star!
    Have a good week. x

Hi Jo, could my husband Mark contribute to the bloodometer? He has just donated today (I can’t for medical reasons so he is my proxy!)
