Skippety skip go on over to Twitter and follow these two. Not on Twitter? Get on Twitter. It’s the place to be.
Or you can find them on the good old world wide web, if Twitter’s a bit too scary.
Longfella is Poet Tony who did a wonderful poem for Rosie at her funeral and MC’d the whole event for us. She and he met exactly a year ago and yesterday he dedicated to Rosie his set which he did for 3 Hundred and 65.
That means a lot to us, because Tony’s gig was the last thing we went out to with Rosie. She started to become weaker and iller at that point and for the next two months I’ve got all sorts of dates imprinted on my mind, each one marking horrible events of a year ago.
And 3 Hundred and 65? There was a bit of a TKOE plug for them earlier in the year – it’s a brilliant fundraiser for the Teenage Cancer Trust (which the TKOE £20k challenge is also supporting) where there’s a year long story tweet developing. There’s more to it than that, but you need to go and look for yourself. And follow them. Anyway, they did a shout out for Rosie too. Thank you soooooo much.
Poetry thing last night was brilliant. Very loud and raucous. Not like poetry at school used to be. More people should get into poetry.
Scottish gig sounds as though it was brilliant too – lots of brilliance over these past few days, isn’t there?
And guess what. With a few more Random Rhino sales but mainly through the generosity of all those people in what I believe is genuinely sunny Scotland, we now only have to raise . . . . . . . . . . .£11,989 for the TKOE £20k challenge. And that doesn’t include any of the Race for Life funds!!!
Oh My Goodness, Team Kilburn. What a result!
