A few days make all the  difference don’t they. We’re all much happier now. It turned out three of the four of us had a headachey/sicky bug too. Sylv had it worst.

Short story competition entries are beginning to come in now – sharpen those pencils or get those fingers tapping. Find that inner story writer. COME ON!

And Shailly, a regular blog reader, deserves a special mention because he is having a special waxing session on June 1st, all for TKOE. In his office. It sounds spectacularly painful. But really we need a before picture, so we can also have an after one. Don’t we?

Mother’s Day tomorrow. I know it involves breakfast and a pudding. And Calum has shown me what he has to keep secret until tomorrow. So that’s ok. 🙂

And Sylvie has done it again, holiday wise. She’s found this astounding castle in Northern Italy, which we just laughed at when she showed us it. How on earth could the likes of us go there. But then it turned out that it’s divided into self catering apartments which are loads cheaper than any other thing we could find. So, as long as the dates can be accomodated work wise, we’re going to stay in an Italian castle for a week in the summer. Hah!

As you can tell, we’re going away a fair amount. That’s because for the past four years, we had numerous cancelled holidays. And because it helps.

Not massively relevant, but I’ve been thinking about spring and how as bereaved people we both felt it was rude of it to be so, spring-like. Well now I disagree. It’s life going on; it’s honouring the person we’ve lost by grabbing life and living it. It’s nature healing us by it’s insistence that we embrace life and new things. It’s our lost loved ones kicking us up the bum. X

Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, but very glad you’re all feeling better and happier.
Yay for Shailly (what a fab name), very brave indeed. And yay for Sylvie too, what a skill at her age. (Hannah is our family’s holiday guru, every home should have one.) The Italian castle sounds like a real find, hope it all works out. Really important to have these breaks to look forward to.
First draft of the short (and i do mean short!) story entry is written (in the notes section on my mobile phone. I can email it from there apparently – are you impressed?) . Have been hoping for some more inspiration to take me a little further from the minimum word count,
hasn’t happened as yet But rest assured that it is all in hand.
Lovely thoughts from Deborah. I think everything seems a bit better in the brighter weather and longer/lighter days. Enjoy your Mother’s Day secrets and surprises tomorrow.
    Love to you all. x

We really do need some before and after phots 🙂

Sylvie, I think you may have found your niche there, travel consultant. And you all so deserve lots of lovely holidays.

We’ve not booked anywhere, as at the moment we cannot put Eshe into a cattery. Holidays are on hold for us a little bit, our 20 plus year old cat is very wobbly, so leaving her with others is a huge ask.

Anyway, have a great day tomorrow, whatever it involves. The bright and inspirational light of Rosie will shine through and say hello somewhere, sometime in the day for you as I’m sure she’ll be watching you all.

Italy – that’s something to look forward to. Are you flying there? Another chance to squash the flying nerves, if so.

I hope the breakfast was good. I got quite excited when I had a text first thing (hoping it was from one of the children) – it was from Orange! Boo!

Glad to see that you are happier today. Life is full of ups and downs and you have had more than your fair share to content with, so you are allowed.

A castle for your holidays – how fantastic. Do you have to be known as Lord and Lady from here on in, just to get into role before you arrive?

Hope you have a good Mothers Day xx

Hi, glad you’re feeling better and a trip to Italy sounds great. Hope you’ll be learning some of the lingo before you go! We have been gardening etc, and generally trying to keep the house up together, just in case we get another viewing! I’m hoping that there are still evening classes in Glos to learn new skills when we come back, like chinese cookery…..am also looking forward to swimming etc.
Not a very good day weather-wise here today, at one point we thought it might even snow! Hope it keeps okay tomorrow as am planning a supermarket grocery shopping trip – we don’t need that much as we’re emptying the freezers…..trouble is there are no convenience stuffs left and so for minced meat you first have to thaw your steak! Cooking therefore is becoming a sure…roll on the British takeaway!!!
