We’ve got our very own short story competition. Kath and Three Bags Full Wool Shop in Halifax are running a TKOE event. You can find out all about it here http://threebagsfullwoolshop.blogspot.com/  It’s a really reasonable £2.50 to enter. And you can buy wool while you’re at it.

Given the eloquence of all of you who read this blog, there must be some story writing winners amongst you all.

That’s a bit of cheery news on a bit of a down day. The weather is lovely; lambs are jumping around; spring is with us. And yet I’m cross. Because it isn’t fair.

So we went off down to the graveyard, and Cal shouted hello to Rosie as we arrived and we had a good think and decided we’re about ready to do the headstone organising. That’ll be something creative. And Katie, Rosie’s cousin reminded me, if you have a bad day, you have a bad day. That’s how it is.

So Chris and I are off to the cinema tonight and Sylvie is cooking Cal tea.

What a lovely idea. We know that there are hundreds of people who read this blog – wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were hundreds of entries?
Of course you’re cross (furious would probably be closer) because it so isn’t fair.So I hope your cinema going is a bit uplifting.
We went to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel a couple of weeks ago. That had a real feel-good factor despite the implausible story. Great acting, great scenery, beautifully made. Hope you enjoy whatever you’re going to see.
And I’m very impressed with Sylvie’s culinary prowess at her tender age. Junior Masterchef next? x

Yep, absolutely not fair. But Rosie’s still very much with us in spirit (which you may think is easy for me to say; i don’t have daily reminders of her physical absence). i think about Rosie a lot, and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve passed on the very wise advice that a bad day is just a bad day, and i preface that with ‘as Rosie would say’ – and it does seem to help people. Things have been really crap lately and Rosie’s been a source of much inspiration for me.

enjoy the cinema. let us know what you see.

Big hugs to team kilburn 🙂

Seconding (thirding?) Celia and Andrea : Monday is looming, which I’m guessing is a big enough black inner cloud to make the sun and the lambs seem all wrong. All that spring, and new life and new growth – I couldn’t bear spring for years after my Dad died.

I’m not sure if I have any gift for creative writing – minutes and reports have probably stifled that. But it’s a great idea, and I hope it attracts lots of clever entries.

Our latest cinema outing was The Woman In Black, which wasn’t as good as the stage production, but suitably creepy all the same. We really loved Hugo, which was enchanting, and silly 3D specs too!
