Mincemeat palavar

24 Dec

Cheese bought  – yep

Pork pie bought – yep

Car filled up – yep

Presents wrapped – yep

Mince pies made – erm.  Well yes, in a manner of speaking. Just they’ve turned into tiny little pear and almond tarts which look like mince pies. Mixing your marmalade up with your mincemeat is an easy mistake to make.

We’re all set, and we hope you are too. Have a fab Christmas and thanks to all of you for helping us all through 2011. We’ll be having a toast to Rosie and my Aunty Jackie who died earlier this year, tomorrow lunch. And we’ll be back on line in a few days.

Here’s the link to a Christmas box set we’ve now got.

Have fun

Pear and almond tarts sound lovely. A nice change from the mince pies that everyone has, so the mistaken identity may well turn out to be a happy accident.
I think there will probably be a lot of toasts to Rosie far and wide tomorrow. Our bubbly is already in the fridge. And will be thinking of you, there’s bound to be very mixed emotions but hopefully it will be a good day overall.
Season’s greetings and love to you all. x

Have been thinking of you all, thank you for the link, though I needed to go and eat some chocolate after Part 1. Hope your Christmas is so far proceeding according to plan and that you have been able to obey your own instruction and have some fun.

I gave up making mince pies ages ago, but it’s a long story.

I made mincemeat pinwheels, sort of look like a cinnamon swirl made with puff pastry rather than a pie. looked really nice going into the oven and looked fab coming out…..then i realised i had used greaseproof paper instead of parchment paper so anyone wanting a mincewheel has to peel off the paper stuck to the back of them first LOL I just point people in the direction and carry on eating the brandy chocs instead 🙂
