Gingerbread Angels

22 Dec

Tiny post today, but just had to share these two things. These arrived in the post today. From a mystery person. We think we know who they are from, but we’re just checking. They are fab 🙂 ) and they are hanging on our tree now.

And Hope have asked me to send this to all of Team Kilburn to wish you all a happy Christmas and to thank you for everything you have done for them this year. Thanks Hope and a Merry Christmas from all of us to you all.

    Lovely gingerbread angels.
And nice of Hope to send that.
And, I’ve just realised that if I move my mouse left and right across the screen the snow changes direction. Me slow, yes. Can’t help it, brain is years behind.
Also, forgot to put in my mail to you Jo, new job is at same place (university) but in the Library, very exciting.
Back to changing the direction of the snow – big kid that I am 😉

I’ve just spent the past couple of minutes moving the snow as I hadn’t realised that happened either 🙂

Loving the gingerbread angels. How about the mystery maker breaking cover and taking orders next year, proceeds to TKOE? And thanks to Hope for the seasonal greetings and message.
You’ve started something now, Michelle – because of course everyone reading the post will have to try it! You may of course have made a discovery previously unknown…
Hope that the Christmas countdown is going well. We’re still eating leftovers from our early Christmas last weekend, they’ll all be gone when everyone else is starting theirs! x

I’m afraid I can’t claim to be the baker. The angels were made by the lovely Nicky at Doodlebakes see http://www.doodlebakes.co.uk. She makes all sorts of bespoke biscuits and cakes, and will send them all over the country.

Wow! Directional snow change! I’ve been playing with it and it is COOL. I never noticed it before, either.

The gingerbread angels look great! I’ve been following the blog since I read about it on facebook shortly after Rosie died. I am the same age as she was and I work in a restaurant. Today at work a woman approached me asking for a table, and said that her friend was on her way up the stairs, and that she would be very slow because she’d had cancer. For a split second I thought in my head “well THIS is awkward, why did she need to tell me that, what am I supposed to say?!?”… and then I suddenly realised that it wasn’t awkward at all, why would it be? If she had said “my friend is slowly walking up the stairs because she broke her leg”, that would have been fine, so why not for cancer. I was sympathetic and told the woman that if there was anything they needed, to ask me and I’d happily help. I’m fairly sure that without Rosie and the charity work, I would indeed have felt awkward and not known what to say. And that is such a testament to her, to have achieved her mission of de-mystifying the taboo topic of ‘cancer’ even just for one person, who never even got to meet her.

Wishing a merry christmas to team kilburn!

    Oh wow!
And for anyone else who’s finished wrapping, stuffed the turkey & is thumb twiddling……do you all know about the tab on the end of foil/clingfilm boxes which stops the roll falling out? Go on, have a look……

Hee hee, I’m changing snow direction 😉
Steve has just walked off saying ‘whatever makes you happy’. Simple things eh!
Will check out the foil tomorrow Claire.
Hope everyone is okay and not feeling too meh.
    Move that snow 🙂

OK so which clever little elf has changed the snow to go the opposite direction to the mouse??
I think Claire has been on the sherry.

I’ve obviously been spending too long on here because it seems that the snow changes direction differently each time I reload the page. Sometimes it goes the same way as the mouse, and other times it goes the opposite way.

Julia, ….put the bottle down and move slowly away 🙂 🙂 🙂

    What a beautiful angel!
I’ve been trying to make the snow go up instead of down but it won’t.
Thinking of you all tonight. Love, Jill
