For goodness sake

30 Nov

How is this right?  I’m requested to give assistance to the cat worming team in the kitchen. I forgo my cup of tea to hold a very large heavy cat. Who spits liquid all over me and one of Rosie’s  jumpers. And only then am I told that the advice on the bottle is to avoid contact with skin and I notice that everyone else is gloved, long sleeved and reaching from a distance. Tell me. How is this right?

Still, it hasn’t taken the shine off the extremely large cheque from the Newent Triathlon for TKOE which arrived today. Thank you to everybody who made that happen and for passing it onto TKOE for our next lot of donations.

And neither has it taken the shine off this  Rosie has been in our heads a lot these past few days so this is brilliantly timed.

We’ve been given details of a scheme which links up artists who do memorials and headstones with people who want to commission one (thank you Rachel’s mum). So we’ve been giving some thought to that. Have moved from being quite troubled by it, to looking forward to it.

I think that they set you up Jo. I do like the idea of the cat worming team though, perhaps you should get your own back and hire them out!!! 
I like the idea of commissioning an artist to do Ro’s headstone, she would love this idea, particularly as she did the art auction. I think this is a fab idea. 

Brilliantly timed as you say and I’ve just had a Ro fix. 🙂
What lovely news today, well apart from the bit where you got cat worming liquid over you. I hope it wasn’t too toxic…xxxxxx al

We wimp out and get the vet to administer medication, and we also hide meds in favourite food. But Millie is a house cat so really not too many issues…..

Marvellous news about the cheque and checked out just giving and so close to 4K for the zumbathon!

lovely stuff on roomyverse – thanks for putting the link up! after a day full of thumping headache now feeling warm and (more) positive! 🙂 x

Not right at all. I think you should make it clear that your involvement in any future cat worming activity will be limited to direction only (at a suitable distance and so without the need for protective clothing),
But excellent news on the donation front. Very affirming both of Rosie and of the continuing work of TKOE.
I now have the roomyverse link as a bookmark for easy access to a Rosiefix. We will look forward to hearing about progress with her headstone, you’ll do a great job with the commission once you reach that stage, as you always do.
It will be December tomorrow. How has that happened? x

Thrown into the Lions den or tigers cage might be more fitting words Jo, I never put my hands or fingers inside a cats mouth no matter how big or small, A few years ago our late male cat bit through my thumb just to get a taste of a nibble, ouch! Gloves? you need armoured and waterproof ones Jo, lol.

Loved the link to Rosie’s rememberance, wrote a message there too, loved watching Rosie’s video dairies, brought back many fond memories of that lovely face, heart and mind. We need to be able to have these pictures, video’s and blogs all saved on a single DVD as a video story with Rosie’s face on the disc and case. I still miss chatting with Rosie about our cancers.

All the best from all our family to your’s, xxx

Colder here, windy and wild, so no biking today – hope it settles down for our cross Channel trip next week!!

Our vet supplies wormer in a small pipette which you squeeze on to the back of the cat’s neck – same idea as the flea stuff. Wouldn’t even dream of trying to give anything orally to Harry, who has a knack of recalling what his teeth and claws are for at just such a moment!

I could just hear you saying “Oh, for goodness sake!”

I get the squirt on the back of the next stuff too – just pin the little buggers down, squirt and away – invaluable when there is only one of you!!
      It works fast too!!

I thought, when I married a vet, that meant he would cope with such things AND deal with dirty nappies, vomiting babies etc. He doesn’t!
It’s a good job we have spot-on flea stuff! (He does do their jabs and/or pills.)
If you type “pill cat joke” into google, you’ll get a very good guide to it!

When I came to Rosie’s page today, it is SNOWING on the screen! Is that something y’all set up or is it an ad? Whatever it is, it made my day! This girl in Louisiana (where it rarely snows!) is happy, happy, happy! Rosie just keeps spreading good cheer. Thank you, Team Kilburn!!
