Busy

8 Nov

Hello hello. Feels like ages since I’ve posted, but it’s only a couple of days.  Thanks for all the ideas about rhinos. We are thinking them all through at the moment. And there’s some prototype development going on, which is exciting because that sounds as though we are developing a new jet engine or something.

Guess what we did on Saturday? Any ideas? No? We went to the posh hotel. You remember, the one that Rosie took us to and we only lasted two hours at. I think I’d mentioned that they had transferred her booking and payment to a weekend of our choice. Well, we decided to go on Bonfire Night. Toby didn’t want to come, so we took cousin Alex instead, who Rosie was very close to. And what a time we had – swimming in an outdoor heated pool; eating lovely things; going to Longleat which was down the road to see a really spectacular fireworks display; and me and Alex had a bit of pampering done. The only thing which was a bit/very disappointing depending who you were, was that Sylvie was considered too young to have any pampering. Still, we were all very relaxed by the end of it.

Now, I need to unleash a real Team Kilburn moment. The big Team Kilburn, not just the inner team kilburn. Last week, a really lovely person called Hannah contacted us via Rosie’s blog. She has just been diagnosed with the same liver cancer as Rosie and she is going into hospital tomorrow for a liver resection on Thursday (That’s when a chunk of liver is sliced out, and then miraculously your liver grows back). Rosie’s blog started after all that bit of unpleasantness had happened, but Hannah and I had a good long chat about things. I know this is a really nerve-wracking time for Hannah and her family and friends, so could we all just have a big joint sending Hannah all our positive thoughts and good wishes to help her through the next few weeks.

And now -what’s that? What’s the picture at the start of this post? Oh,  that’s two young dudes relaxing at a posh hotel.

Jo

Well, let’s start with Hannah. I’m sure I can confidently speak for the international Team Kilburn in saying that we are sending the biggest collective set of good wishes possible to you. We will all be thinking of you and willing you on as you recover from this surgery. Make sure to let us know how you’re getting on. I know that the support that Jo and her family are giving you will be invaluable.
And speaking of the Kilburns – so pleased that you managed to have a good time at the hotel. (Never mind Sylvie, you’ll be starting on those pamper treatments before you know it.) Back to the rhino planning now….x

I just got your email to say you had given me a shout out on the blog. Thank you so much! I feel really quite uplifted. Busy doing some more visualization techniques and just enjoyed a lobster pasta before the onslaught of NHS grub. Warm wishes to you and your family .. And thank you again for mentioning me!

So glad you made it to the posh hotel, Longleat and some ‘professional’ fireworks! ….. Though nothing can beat the amazing Ivy Cottage diplay we went along to last year ….. 🙂

Hannah – Hope all goes well with the surgery and treatment ….. positive thoughts for you, channelled through prayer, from this ‘branch’ of team Kilburn!

Looking forward to seeing the rhinos with domino scarves!

xxxxxxx AND hoping to get to the zumbathon on Sundayyyyyy 😉 See you then! xxxxxxx

Hannah, I’ll be thinking of you and your family, hope all goes okay with the resection and you have a good recovery from the surgery.

I loved the hotel stay with the Kilburns, the fireworks were ace, the company even better and having the pool to myself early Sunday morning meant I could indulge in my fantasy that its marble splendour was mine all mine!

Hannah, even though she isn’t too good, I’ll ask Eshe to lead the cat gang (coz you’ll have cat scans or similar) to get on their vibing machines and work hard for you. With all our cats vibing, it will help.
And us hoomans will do some serious vibing for you too.

Glad that you all had a great time at the hotel, shame Sylvie couldn’t go be pampered though.

And I’ve been practicing my Zumba for sunday 🙂

      Hi Mic :))
Loved the pic btw, despite its “ick” quality :)))
Hope Eshe is ok – will deflect some vibes her way and get Poppy and Hebe to send some too:)
      Hope you’re well
      xxxxx

Sending loads of positive vibes to Hannah and her family. fingers and everything else crossed that all goes well.

    i haven’t been practising for the zumbathon…..
    xx
PS. if you don’t hear from me for a while i’m still out here thinking of you all, but we’re offline at home at the mo. am using some ‘quota’ time (whatever that is) at work to write this!!

Oh Michelle what a fantastic photo! Jo, what about using it , with caption of course, on some new TKOE merchandise? Like a cookery apron?!

So pleased the hotel visit was a success, but amazed they wouldn’t pamper Sylvie, Junior Pamper Parties are a major crowd puller in some spas. Oh well, perhaps Father Christmas could send her to a nail bar….ssssh!

and Hannah, I’m sure today won’t be one of your better days, but remember one of Rosie’s sayings, “if you have a bad day, you have a bad day!”, & look forward to a better tomorrow. You couldn’t have picked a better family than the Kilburns for support, & the rest of us out here are wishing you well. Please let us know how things are going xxxx

Yep, I’ve been thinking of Hannah today.
Hope you’re doing okay, Hannah. Hope Rosie’s spirit, and this blog, has helped you. Go fight girl 🙂 Show that cancer what you’re made of – stronger stuff than it – and let it know the wider Team Kilburn can be scary, so if it doesn’t bog off, it’ll have us to answer to (and Lin’s shiny pink DMs! – yehhhh).
Gentle fluffy hugs coming your way
    Mic x
