I have been instructed to post about slidey sheets. Um. For about an hour this afternoon, Rosie posed as a really sick person – as in even more sick than she is currently – whilst two very nice occupational therapists showed me how to use special slidey sheets to move her about the bed.
They are surprisingly slidey. I now have to show Chris how to use them, using Calum and Sylvie as practice patients.This is Team Kilburn in action. Rosie is showing her appreciation by eating more. But that will make her heavier and more difficult to move. Hmm.
Anyway, she says hello and is still aiming for home on Thursday and proper blogging. All the medical stuff is being delivered tomorrow to make that happen.

Rosie I now have images of you sliding round the bed, unable to keep still because of the slidey sheets lol. Just make sure you don’t wear silk or satin pj’s as that could be a recipe for disaster 🙂 Hx
I thought it was just Rosie with troubles. Now I begin to feel sorry for Sylvie and Callum. No doubt you will be expert by the time you get to moving Ro, but I hate to think what the other 2 might suffer in the process. Do try not to drop them on the floor in your manoeuvrings.
Very glad that Rosie is getting home. I bet you all are too. It sounds as though she will be well kitted out. Give her my love.

I’m not sure whether you will remember me (I was Miss. Laura Wightwick) but I taught you briefly at Primary School and Sylvie was in my class for a year.
I read your blog everyday and I never fail to be impressed by your zest for life, tenacity and never ending positive attitude. I knew you as a bright, enthusiastic girl and you have turned into a determined, courageous young woman. I know that I speak for all of the other members of staff at the school when I say that.
You are an inspiration as well as a force to be reckoned with! I think that you must be the preverbial dog with a bone…never loosing sight of what you want and by hook or by crook you’ll get it some way or another.
To be honest Rosie, you say you need us (those who read your blog), but actually, I think that we need you, as someone to aspire to.

LOL at the slippery sheets, have a wonderful image in my head. Hope all goes well today. We are off for Bob to have his CT scan to see whats what. Cant believe its a year since he was in ICU and his diagnosis.
Hi Rosie and family, hope all equipment gets delivered today and that all is in place so Rosie can come home! Can’t quite imagine Sir Kilburn coping with slidey sheets, but guess he’ll be up to the challenge!! Just watch out, Rosie, or you’ll end up on the floor!
Have a day to myself today, knitting and t.v. watching, as can’t drive yet…am sorely tempted to have a go, though!!

Hoists are much better fun than slidey sheets however the thought of Mr Kilburn at the controls does not present a pretty picture, one false move and you could be winging you way towards Ross on Wye Rosieeeeeee ….. 🙂

Sounds like it could all go a bit ‘Total Wipeout’ into the commode if you’re not careful. Perhaps Mr Kilburn could don a Swedish Chef outfit while adjusting the controls for a bit of Old School ‘It’s a Knockout’ action? You could then hire Stewart Hall to laugh uncontrollably at the bedside while….er, but now I’m getting carried away. Good to know you’re heading home Rosie.
Who would of thought slidey sheets would entertain us all so much. The images that we all have in our heads of the Kilburn team experimenting or should I say playing with them is quite funny but the thought of Chris dressing up as well, now that’s scary!!! Love Hels xxx

Glad to hear you are home and sleeping Rosie. I have worked with slide sheets and they are brilliant, they do what they say on the tin! However please take heed the advice from those about not wearing silk or satin clothing whilst lounging on slidey sheets! It could all be way too entertaining for Team Kilburn 🙂
