‘Hotel’ stay.

24 Jul

Hahaha. Ha Ha Ha. HAHAHA. Ha. Ha. Ha.

You’ll never guess what happened. YOU’LL NEVER GUESS WHAT BLOODY HAPPENED. Blood being the operative syllable.

Only went and got there, spent two hours there and then decided that Gloucester hospital would be much nicer, so on came an internal bleed. FANtastic.

Oh for goodness sake! It could have waited just another incey wincey 48 hours eh? Bloody bad luck, pun intended lol. You get this sorted and then let your folks whisk you away again for another attempt.

    Dear Rosie,
That’s bad news. Bet you’re feeling well pissed off and lots of other things. I can hear a bit of defiance in that hahaha also so keep with that and plan another treat. I am using lots of expletives right now on your behalf. Any tasty doctors? xx

  5. Pip Armstrong July 24, 2011 at 6:12 pm #

Oh Rosie that’s reeeeally crappy timing you poor thing :o( Are you still in there or have you come home? Hope the latter because the weather’s beautiful today and would like to think that you’ve managed to feel the sun on your back at least for a minute or two, it’s just lovely :o)

  6. celia butler July 24, 2011 at 6:46 pm #

That is just so not on! What can I say? – hope that you did at least enjoy the 2 hours and that it is a treat postponed rather than cancelled. And that you don’t need to be in hospital for long. Complete bummer! x

  7. Michelle July 24, 2011 at 6:50 pm #

I would say – what a pain in the arse, but it’s not there is it? Hope you’re on the up and your treat can be rearranged.

Sorry to hear about your lack of hotel stay, that is completely pants. Hopefully the toiletries were good, and you’ll be back for a proper stay soon.

I wanted to make you aware of something on tv, but with an added disclaimer that it really may not be something you want to see at the moment, or at any point. But on the other hand it may be.
It’s here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b012p4v6/Alex_A_Life_Fast_Forward/ it’s only available for a few more days, unless you can download it from iPlayer (on iPlayer desktop I think it’s called).
Basically, a guy called Alex who is about 20, has terminal bone cancer, and this is a documentary of the last year of his life. It reminded me so much of you, it’s a really really happy film. Alex is so full of positivity and energy and life. It doesn’t have a happy ending, but it’s happy overall, because the guy is so much making the most of everything. I thought I’d let you know about it because it reminded me of you, and maybe it could help with your positivity, but I realise it may be too close to home for you. No dishonour either way.

Sending you positive wishes and hoping you get out of hospital soon. Or at least if you don’t, that it’s turkey dinner tomorrow. x

Hi Rosie, what a shame, to say the least!!!! Still, hope you’re feeling better now! We’re just going out to buy more meusli and bread etc…surprising how doing little things become so exciting when you’re not very mobile!!
    love mags.

  16. Robin July 25, 2011 at 7:45 am #

Rosie that sucks big time, hope u managed to sneak a towel away in time.

Please get out soon and have another go at the hotel treat, you deserve it. I just hate the timing of these things, which is why i think you were laughing, its uncanny. I love that you laugh about it though

    Hope you are feeling better

  17. Rosie's Mum July 25, 2011 at 11:07 am #

Hi everyone. Just updating you while Rosie sleeps. She had a major bleed last night so ended up in the operating theatre where, in true Rosie style, they discovered that her body had managed to stop the bleeding itself. Although she struggled a bit she was stable enough to not need to go to intensive care. If you want to leave any comments for her we shall read them out to her.

    • Maria Olpin July 25, 2011 at 12:17 pm #

      Jo, Rosie,

Soo glad she’s come through fighting again, great news that you dont need intensive care 🙂 keep fighting x

      Go team Kilburn!

    • Maz July 25, 2011 at 3:40 pm #

Sorry to hear you are having a bleedin rough time Rosie, Not fun. Its just over a year since Bob decided that bleeding was a good idea!!!! He’s still going strong and annoying me intensely by snoring loudly 🙂 Hope you dont have snorers in the ward with you 🙂

      Much love

  18. Michelle Gabriel July 25, 2011 at 12:31 pm #

Rosie, via Jo, get that body of yours sorted.
We all need to get our cats on the hugest vibing machine out – about time they did some work instead of lazing around, eating and sleeping.
So, I’m sending you some positive vibes, I’ll get Eshaness to do the same.
And to your family and Toby – hope you’re all okay, stay strong.
    Big hugs ((((((((((Rosie))))))))))

  19. Amyyyyy July 25, 2011 at 12:44 pm #

    Dearest Rosie,

So I’m a stroppy stropperson at work and I’m stomping all over the office cos I can’t be with you right now. Well I could have been but under your instruction I’m not, there you go, thinking about everyone else all the time. Hmph. But I’m so happy your teeny tiny moonpig is holding in there. And your body stopping itself bleeding? I didn’t even know that was possible but then again you never fail to surprise me. Love you and miss you tons xxxxxxxxxx

  20. Rebecca July 25, 2011 at 12:58 pm #

Just to let you know that we are all behind Team Kilburn and hoping that all the positive vibes reach Rosie in GRH.

  21. Di Harrill July 25, 2011 at 1:12 pm #

Hi Rosie – so sorry you didn’t get your stay in the posh hotel – there will be other times. I swore a lot when I read your message – which isn’t too unusual for me – ask Mrs Cooney! Such bad luck – poor you…
Just to say – thinking about you

    Ms H (Harrill)

  22. Dee July 25, 2011 at 1:40 pm #

    Hi Rosie,
So cross when I read your original message that I swore a lot too. Now directing all that energy into positive vibes via Team Kilburn. Think of us like a lazy river zooming you along and when you feel ready to start kicking again – you’ll get better even faster.

Love to Mum and Dad, family and friends too xxx

  23. Steph July 25, 2011 at 2:09 pm #

That body of yours needs a good talking to. How selfish!! It knows how much you were looking forward to the hotel – and poor Toby!
Understand you’re feeling better now – ring the hotel – tell them the story, I bet they’d love to be seen as a caring establishment and offer you a second stay free of charge!
    Go for it!
    Love S

  24. Pip Armstrong July 25, 2011 at 3:27 pm #

Not again, poor you, let’s hope it’s done it’s stuff now and gives you a well-deserved rest, hope you get out of there and back home very soon, love from us all x

  25. Claire July 25, 2011 at 3:49 pm #

I can see those bloody vessels cringeing and sealing themselves back up in the face of all this cyberspace fury. Glad at least you didn’t need an ITU visit.

What happened to the hyena who ate an Oxo cube? He made a laughing stock of himself.
(a mini -laugh joke so as not to pull any stitches/drips/drains)
    Love & hugs to all

  26. Julia July 25, 2011 at 3:56 pm #

Talk about bleedin’ inconvenient. Hope you’re sorted and feeling lots better today. Bet the hotel staff were surprised at how quickly you used those toiletries!
Our bees have been busy and we have honey extraction equipment at the ready. Apparently we’ll get very sticky tomorrow.
Take care, Paul & Julia xxx

  27. Dollydimple July 25, 2011 at 5:31 pm #

Blimey, you are not doing things by halves at the moment are you?!! A bleed – pah!- done that before, so now the bleed becomes big enough to need theatre. Well, enoughs enough young lady – stop trying to go one better all the time. As for the rest of this gang – well, we are just not vibing strongly enough.
Hope you are soon on the mend and I sincerley hope you are not near any snorers, groaners or moaners and that you can get some rest.
    Love to all x

    • jill Clayton July 25, 2011 at 5:51 pm #

Hi Rosie, Joining the others in sending my best vibes via TinkerCat and Magpuss. Very impressive that your body managed to heal the bleed so fast. You must be really strong (not counting the cancer and chest infection!)
Re snorers: my husband was TERRIBLE until a cow he was treating (as a vet) kicked him in the nose. It cured the problem immediately. I suggested that the cow should set up as a professional but the farmer feared it might only be once in a 100 that the cow got the right spot – so they didn’t.
      Love, Jill

  28. Chloe Taylor-Jones July 25, 2011 at 5:42 pm #

Sending lots of love to you Rosie, and to Toby and your family too. Chloe xxx

A big drama that you could well do without Rosie, but wishing you a speedy recovery and hoping that your treat debt is paid back very soon. x

  33. Annie Dobson July 25, 2011 at 8:30 pm #

Words fails me Rosie; I have been following your blog and I hear more about you from my daughter Lorna and her friends at School, so feel that I know you now. I can only be here sending love and positive, healing energies. Continue with you belief – your own body stopped the bleed itself, so you know it does work. Much Love Rosie. Annie

  34. Jen Beetson July 25, 2011 at 9:00 pm #

How’s it going at the Glozzer Continental? I’ve been reading your blog like I said I would in my letter (via Sylvie, hope you had a chance to read) But 1st post ! eeeek! Think now’s the time ! I’ll probably press “post” and then have to create some random account somewhere….hope I can work it out! ha!blimey, your body’s pretty damn feisty…….blood is so underrated! i once lost 3 litres, you kind of forget that it’s rather special before things…..*go awry*
These last few trips have sucked big time, I hope you can replan them for soon. I’m now understanding why everyone tells you that they’ve been swearing….I’m feeling it now!!!!! I feel like I’m in a victorian novel and have to write with decorum, but I tell you it’s not what’s going on in my head, but I am now a bona fide member of TK…vibes xxx

  35. Sue July 25, 2011 at 9:03 pm #

No disrespect to Gloucester Hospital but that is not my idea of a luxury weekend, Rosie Kilburn, so you are sure owed BIgTime . Hope you are feeling better soon, lovely girl. Thinking of you all.
    Sue xx

  36. Jane July 25, 2011 at 9:43 pm #

Dear Rosie just wanted to say ‘hang in there girl’ and I hope by the time mum gets to read this out to you that you are feeling a bit brighter. I imagine sometimes you must feel like Dorothy in the WIzard of Oz, clicking your heels and ending up somewhere you don’t want to be! Bet you’d enjoy wearing some sparkly shoes though 🙂 Shoes are always good for a cheer-up have a look at the Irregular Choice website for inspiration, hope it makes you smile xx
