New bucket.

18 Jul

Dad got me a new bucket.

I am dosed up on Oramorph because, for some reason, my neck and shoulder pain thought now would be a good time to raise it’s ugly head. I might talk some weird stuff because it has literally just started making my head spin. I think Mum just said something about Ox testicles, but I don’t know why she would be talking about that.

I’ve spent today in dream land and Alex, Lucy (mum’s cousins) and I went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – which is something I won’t ever be able to do now. I’m at the stage where people will talk about things (e.g uni) and I will get sad because I can’t ever go.

My head is all over the place and I’m thinking of goats.

In that picture up there you can see how terribly thin my arms are..I’m going to have some porridge later..but I really haven’t eaten/drunk enough today, because I’ve been asleep.

I’ve been alright today apart from the sleepiness and pain. It’s not knife pain..I don’t know why you would even think it was..you know my neck pain. What? I don’t know what I’m talking about.

I think I’m going to lie down.

Great bucket Rosie, your dad has perfect taste!
Just got back to the UK today. The temperature here is about 30 degrees less than Abu Dhabi so it’s a bit of a shock.
That Oramorph is obviously strong stuff, especially when you haven’t been able to eat much. Buckets, ox testicles and goats in one post is quite something!
Rest well, hope you can zap that neck and shoulder pain and look forward to the lovely weekend that you’ve planned for your parents and grandparents. x

Lurve lurve lurve the colour, great colour sense Dad!! You won’t miss that even in a dark room lol.

Now what is this about goats then?

    Ali xx

Hey Rosie – sounds like a normal conversation in the art block – goats and testicles! A Dali painting perhaps or just a doodle on the back of a sketchbook? Think I might have a go at drawing that. Glad to hear you have rested today. xx

    Hi Rosie, love the bucket!!!
Am going off eary in morning, so thought I’d look in tonight instead. Am off on a bus to the coast with two other ladies, who are doing some clothes shopping. Unfortunately I won’t be buying anything as can’t afford it at present!! Rather fancy one of those striped tsirt/jumper things that the english think the french always wear. I fancy a black and white one but it’ll have to wait…..
Anyhow, we’re catching a 8.15 a.m bus, which gets us into the town for 9.30 at a cost of two euros!!!! We return on an early evening bus for the same price, so transport isn’t a fortune!
    love mags.

I thought ‘I’m a Celebrity..’ when goat & ox testicles were mentioned. Give me porridge any day, as long as it has a pool of cream & brown sugar on top.
Remember, while you’re in your Oromorph induced dreamland that if you see a sparkling cloud, wave back.

    Nice Bucket

    Why Goats?

Just read your blog properly and you don’t really want to hear this but you’re an inspiration for all young people everywhere.

Bless. Have a think when your head stops whizzing about what you might like from French supermarkets, fruit compote, creme brulee, lovely soups, get your order in before Thursday and we’ll bring them back with us, have already got your mum’s sel gris and sirops but anything else you fancy is not a problem x

By the way I have no idea where the ‘your comment is awaiting moderation’ came from!

Your dreamland trip sounds like my average nights sleep. Have baby Koalas swinging on the curtain and insisting that I need to sell a pair of my sisters knickers with a 12′ record (think it was 5 Star or something equally embarrassing) So next time you are in that wizard world I’ll try to drop by 🙂 xxxxx

    Loving the bucket.
Oramorph sounds like a character from some gnome story so trippy times suits it.
    Just hope it helps you

I might add that at least you take drugs to attain that state… Lucy has no excuse, its just her own weird world of a subconscious!

Iv seen some beautiful buckets in my time but none that even come close to your new bucket. Buckets have long been given a wide birth by true creatives, but your bucket is evidence that that trend seems thankfully to be in decline.

And you were right, i was thinking of knife pain until you said it wasnt like knife pain.

I need some coffee but my super lovely nespressos have ran dry, I thought the expensive bit was the machine itself, how wrong was I. I spent 40 quid on the little coffees that you have to put in the machine this month alone.

Why do I have the taste of a rich man but the funds of a poor man? Probably because I have spent my entire life only buying things that I don’t actually need. Which is probably also why you sit there with a bucket like that and my bucket is a solid grey color with what appears to be no emphasis on style whatsoever.

you can use the lovely bucket to feed the goat the ox’s bits! sound like pretty heafty drugs, and with no food no wonder you’re tripping x

    Hi Rosie
Just thought I must touch base with you, to let you know I’m thinking of you and recalling the time I took a group of you and your friends in my car to the Royal Forest of Dean College for the celebration meal when you were in Year 9 I think.
    Thinking of you Pippa Palmer

I wrote a message on here yesterday asking if there’s anything else you fancy eating that we can bring you back from France eg pureed fruit pots, creme caramels etc etc and for some reason it’s been deleted ……
    Let’s try again x

    Hi Rosie,

I’ve followed your blog for a while now, but never known quite what to say. I was reading your comment about signing a contract to go through this with you..well, count me in..you’re inspiring.

So sorry for the late post Rosie, been running around after taking our son to the dentist, then the sky engineer followed by the roofer checking our missing house roof slates and then I fell asleep, like you totally worn out, lol.

Love the bucket, tell your dad to keep it face or you might find it missing if our granddaughter sees it, the bucket is her favourate colour too.

Sorry to hear your new meds Oramorph is knocking you for six, I went with transdermal medicine patches and had a similar morphine based medicine to you for my server head, neck, spine and cancer pains. I would have thought your medical team would have also given you these type of patches you wear on your skin, no pain meds to swallow then so it is easiler on mouth and stomach too.

Yep, people might talk about things you might not be able to do Rosie, but you have already achieve things that even those people in there old age might never be able to do. If you want to do something and you still have the strength, why not try just to see where they are going, if you are not able to travel try look via the Google street maps, lots of places and pictures to see that even I will never be able to see either. Remember your friends are going to go through years of Uni tutors driving them mad and hard exams that will make their brains hurt for years to come too. We all wish you could do these things Rosie…

Sorry about your sleepless nights and pain, not easy is it, you wake up feeling a zombie and then wish you was asleep again. I hate it when the room spins faster than I can hold onto the bed or my wheelchair, it feels like we are on a rollacoaster ride with no brakes, that is when I reach for the bowl or in your case bucket. I am jealous your’s has a smiley face on it and you can see it in the dark.

Here is wishing you a good nights sleep Rosie, you might try asking your doctors for transdermal pain med patches, the medicine is absorbed through the skin at a much more steady control, then all you might need is a liquid top-up now and again.

Good night young lady, sweet dreams, xxx

Love the bucket. Hope you’ve got some anti-sickness medicines to counteract the Oramorph (can cause nausea as I’m sure you know) and generally make the bucket more of an ornament and less of a requirement. x

  25. Deb Walker July 20, 2011 at 4:41 pm #

I’m guessing the bucket is for your ‘bucket-wish-list’ ….?
Fill it up 🙂 Where there’s life there is still hope …
Thinking of you continually …. I even have your pic on my dash-board, so I see you every time I get in the car …. which is quite a lot of my day, being peripatetic n all that 😉
Hoping that you are doing OK…. missing your posts!
Lots of love to you all,
    Deb and gang xxxxx
