Scan day.

1 Oct

Sorry – it’s a late one.

It was scan day today so I slept until 12:15pm (although I did get up at 10:50am so that I could have some rice krispies before the 3 hours of no food or drink started) and then we left at 12:30pm to go up to Birmingham and it rained and rained and rained! It was horrible! But, to be honest, I quite like it when it rains on a Friday. So yeah, I managed to choke on some antisickness drugs and nearly throw up all the dye I had drank but apart from that all went smoothly. Let’s see what this scan shows……. I’m too positive about it – I shouldn’t be at all positive because if it’s negative then that’ll set me back worse. I should be either neutral or expecting the worst because then you’re ready for it if it’s bad news or you are pleasantly surprised if it’s good. Hum. I’m hoping it’s all gone. What I’m kind of doing in my head is saying to myself if I think it’s bad then it’ll be good news and so I’m pretending that I’m thinking it’s going to be bad but really I’m thinking it’s going to be good..complicated?

Did I tell you that I went to the doctors yesterday about my eye (because it’s been feeling uncomfortable) – – HAAAA! I just reread what I wrote there and that is just hilarious..an uncomfortable eye? HA! Wow, you can tell I’m tired.. – – and so the doc sent me to the opticians, isn’t that sweet? They have their little network. There are particular people for teeth and eyes so why aren’t there for ears? I suppose it’s an ear, nose and throat doctor but you don’t go see them every so many months do you? The optician gave me eye drops because I’ve got some sort of red thing that will sort itself out and a dry eye. Just the one.

That’s hope for you, we all have it and we never let go of it (well except maybe the clinically depressed…) 😀

Hi Rosie, glad the scan is done, even if it did make you feel sick. Hopefully with the way you’ve been feeling it’ll be good news when its results day. Can fully sympathise with your feelings aboutr it all!
It was an awful day here yesterday, and we stayed in much of the day, except for going to see the alzheimer patient in hospital for an hour, taking his wife to see him. This family have taken up much of my thoughts recently as Fred is very near the end now, and have been trying to be there for his wife. Alzheimers is a horrible illness.
Am knitting a second matinee coat to sell and love the pattern…makes me feel a bit broody though am way past the age for all that nonsense! Patrick has a girlfriend though haven’t yet met her. She is starting at Sandhurst in January but has been in the army for a while already.
A wet day today here today, so no doubt will have cabin fever later on as am not used to spending so much time in the house…have got a bag to finish and knitting to do which will occupy some of the time…could have a go at making corn dollies, or could carry on with miniature shop I’ve been making for two years….or have got a rug to complete. All these unfinished projects for the winter!!!!
    love mags.

Hi Rosie, There are ear specialists, called audiologists. I’m grateful to the optician for my glasses and the audiologist for my hearing aids! Bionic woman, me! Will be thinking of you on scan-reading day. Regards, Jill
