Scan News.

3 Feb

Look how quick we got my scan results!

Mmmm so it turns out that it’s not really news :/. See we worked out that I didnt actually have a scan right at the beginning of my chemo, it was a bit before that, so we can’t actually work out when any change in size occured. Basically the scan shows that there is a nodule in my lung that has gone from 13mm to 16mm, another one that has gone from 4mm – 5mm and multiple nodules that have had no change at all. Also that there is a lump in my liver that has gone from 28mm to 38mm and another one that has decreased in size (but they couldn’t be bothered to measure it hah) and some others with no change at all. The great news is that there are absoultely no new areas 😀 This is the first time I haven’t had new areas hah! But yeah, I don’t really see it as any news at all because it was nulifed by the fact that I didn’t have a scan at the beginning so couldn’t really measure it. The real scan results to look at will be the next one won’t it..which will probably be done right at the end of my treatment.
Mental. I don’t really have any feeling about it to be’s just neutral isn’t it..?

Urmmm have booked my wig consulation for friday morning, so that’ll be fun :).

I’m very tired..gosh! And I had loadsa sleep last night actually, felt like chemo was no time at all! Tried it on my own last night, which worked out well on everyone because we all had good nights sleep :). Toby came up for a visit yesterday evening as well which was awesome :).

Website looks well on the way for the second relaunch on monday!! And you’ll all be pleased to know that the 2 tshirt designs awaiting stock on there have been ordered and should be about 11 days 😀

Neutral with some positives seems fine at this halfway stage Rosie – as you say, you have a proper benchmark now. Will look forward to hearing about your wig decisions with photos – are you tempted to go for something wild? x

Will try and remember to take a camera!! Hah, I am tempted to try on anything and everything and I’ve had permission from work that I am allowed to wear ‘womething wild’ ;)…We’ll see what suits! X

Hi Rosie, at the halfway stage news seems fine, as Celia says…will know more no doubt when chemo is finished.
Hope you manage to find a wig which you fancy…though you look great on your photos without one!Perhaps rather than a wig you could put money towards holiday cash and then look forward to spending it abroad????
    love mags.

      Helloha Mags,
      Hope you are well!
The wig comes free as we are getting it through the hospital so no need to worry about cost!! Am very pleased to say though, that I have already paid off my holiday so am now saving up for spending money!! 😀 Spain here we come! Hah!
      Excited for your birthday tomorrow???

    Hi Rosie
    Glad scan went well
    Pip x
PS Saw this website recommended in a magazine this morning, thought it might have some ‘wig tips’ if you need them.

      Hey Pip,
That site looks really interesting – Have had a look through it and there is a workshop in Cheltenham so I think we’ll check it out..especially as you get a free bag of stuff!! 😀

    Hi Rosie!
I can understand your feelings towards your scan results …. ‘something’ and ‘nothing’ at the same time …. but erring on the positive side I feel 🙂

Are you going to Wills Wigs on Friday, or somewhere closer to home? Make sure you get a wig that fits ‘tight’ against your head … move around in it LOTS (- head back and forward mainly) to get it to fit to the nape of your neck properly (… it rides up to its natural position). I didn’t do that and then had to go back to get it fitted again (- the lady had to custom stitch it). You don’t want to have to go to Bromsgrove twice … ooh err … not the most exciting place for a trip out …. ha ha ;-D

Really looking forward to seeing your ‘new look’ …. it’s fun to have the choice … like a different fashion accessory to choose, depending on your mood! Have fun 😀
    Love to all,
    Deb and gang xxxxx

      Hey Deb and co,
Wills Wigs is the place 🙂 Although the hospital didn’t give us some sort of paperwork that we need…But that’ll all get sorted I hope!!
Thanks for the advice! I’ll do some shaking around to make sure :). Will try and remember to take a camera so that we can get some pictures!
